Crafting, how amazing success works for both assembly and experimentation, and how to avoid critical fails

City bonus and chef food/drink make a difference in determining if you get an "amazing success" or not. In fact, they are the only bonuses you get to the roll for determining an "amazing".

In both Assembly and Experimentation, there is an initial roll to determine if you get an "amazing" or a "critical failure" this is often called the "Luck Roll". A random number is generated from 1-100. If it is >95 then you get an "amazing", if it is <5 you get a "critical failure"

In Assembly, you get a bonus of +10 if you are in a Manufacturing Center and the value of your Poly Cake. So Poly Cake of 16 and a manufacturing Center would increase your chances of getting an "amazing" from 5% to 31%

In Experimentation, you get a +10 bonus if you are in a Research Center and the value of your Bespin Port. So Bespin Port of 24 and a Research Center will get you a 39% chance at an "amazing" instead of 5%

To avoid a "Critical Failure" a chef food/drink bonus of 5 or more does the trick

If you do not use food or drink, your bonus is the value of your Assembly SEAs (Assembly skill - 100) plus city bonus (Manufacturing for Assembly, Research for Experimentation) divided by 7

So Assembly SEAs of 25 +10 for City = 35 divided by 7 = 5. This also avoids any possible "Critical Failure"
